This second car had issues to, he promised to fix them I drove a week %26amp; had to park it, two weeks later nada, I called and ask again about the repairs, next I knew I walked out my door and bam cars gone.... dealer tells me there was a problem with loan, That my manager where I work says I have not been at work lately,so he can%26#039;t verify employment. I can%26#039;t be financed,The owner was on vacation for 2 weeks and not returning calls. A week after of taking the car an having still not spoke to the boss, I%26#039;m about to say screw it, then the dealer calls an says come in an write a statement, say I%26#039;m employed however, I%26#039;ve missed work alot by not having a car, an can I get the car back , not all repairs done but it drove. 3 weeks bam he takes the car again, acting like I gave false info,so I call the finance people an they say they knew nothing about a statement, have no idea what was going on and that they had denied the loan weeks ago. What can I do? Am I screwed? Can I get $1500.00 back?
I bought a car for 10,000 W/ 1500.00 down, the engine blew on the home from the lot. I picked another car...?
You SHOULD be able to...and I hope you are successful in doing so. Car dealers (who have a direct road to hell in the afterlife) are protected with these long, tedious contracts so chances are not good. I would just call some kind of consumer agency (Better Business Bureau) to see what you can do. Best of luck.

I would go back and demand the downpayment back. If they denied financing they should have not given you a car to start with. Either way this sounds like a shady dealer and I would not do business with them. I do not see any way that the dealer could keep your downpayment. Go in there and demand it back or consult a lawyer.

Take him to small claims court. He will hopefully just settle out of court. Then call the finance people and explain what happened to them so they change your credit history.

Four words: State Attorney General%26#039;s office.

If it was me....
I would try to find free legal advice and see if you may have a case.
Consultation is usually free with a good atty.
Once you do that, maybe tell him/her(dealer) that you would like to seek legal advice, and see if they may persuade them to at least split the difference since they should have verified info before letting you have the car.
Sounds like a 50/50 chance.

Take him to court
get all the documentation together about the whole thing.
and if possible get him to tell you why he won%26#039;t
refund your money.

it sounds like the dealership was trying to get the deal done, some way or another, probably even falsifying info, so they are causing theirselves trouble, by law they have to return all the money back to you, make sure you have the reciept!
That is bad buisness if they just took the carback, I work at a dealership and work with the worst credit in the world, in the ghetto, I still get about 95% of people done, but there are some people that cannot be helped, but I always keep in contact with my customers and tell them if there are any problems with the deal since the beginning, unless there is a lot of fraudulence, I will not repo a car like that.
go get your money man!

Tell the guy you want your money back, or you%26#039;ll take him to court. Make sure that you have all of the documents pertaining to the car transaction.

Not all car dealers are shady but this dude certainly gives the rest of %26#039;em a bad, bad name. Was this a little %26quot;Mom and Pop lot%26quot;? A %26quot;buy here pay here%26quot; sorta place? If it was, and it does sound like it, go fight for your money back. Then, if you get it, head over to a REAL dealership. They are able to get financing approved for even the most %26quot;credit challenged%26quot; people and will typically have some less expensive vehicles for doing just that.
It baffles me why people continue to buy cars from corner store used car lots. They know the reputation, figure that they%26#039;ll be shafted, purchase there anyway and SURPRISE are the more worse for the wear. Go to a reputable dealership. If you can%26#039;t afford it you should try buying from a private party. At least then if you totally lose out on a car at least you won%26#039;t have had to pay sales tax.
Next time, don%26#039;t take the word of a %26quot;slick willy%26quot; salesman and have the car inspected by a trusted mechanic. And stay far, far away from mom and pop lots.
Remember: Caveat Emptor.........
