I bought on E bay. Didn%26#039;t bother with a HPi ckeck. Later on we swapped the car on a swap site for a larger car. Both of us were happy. Now 8 months later the new owner decided to sell the car and found it had HP outstanding from the original owner. The finance company wants to reposess.
Where do I stand? He will lose the car, can he now claim the loss aginst me?
If, I bought a car. Then swap it. new owner sells on %26amp; HPI check problem. Car is reposessed. Am I liable?
Im pretty sure the claim has to go against the original owner for selling it with the HPI problem in the first place

If your name is no longer on a fiance contract, you are not responsible and nothing should go on your credit.

What is HPI?

The original owner would be responsible for this situation.
