This is kind of a long story. I am 17 and i am paying for a car through my dad%26#039;s name. He has crappy credit. Thus im making $400 car payments a month for a 97 maxima. And that is through the actuall auto place, not a loan through a bank, the auto lot financed it for us. Is there any way i can trade this car in for a cheaper monthly payment? i mean ill still pay off the balance, i just need to get this 400 a month to at least 200 or something.. im almost positive i cant do anything till im 18 but i still wanna know if anything like that is possible, because i know all im doing is building my dad%26#039;s credit not mine..

if you still owe a lot on the maxima then whatever you trade it in for the amount you owe will go on the new car and either make your payments higher or the same amount
